About

Hi! I'm Cheryl. I'm a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. I hold a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trinity Western University, and work with individuals, couples, and families from a systemic and relational perspective. My training helps me see the ways our experiences, relationships, and family systems shape our patterns and coping strategies.

In my own life, I have experienced how confusing, lonely, and painful it can be to struggle. Through my own therapy, I came to understand the importance of a non-judgmental space - one that allows room for exploration, growth, and change. I am passionate about creating this sense of safety in counselling, recognizing that much of our pain occurs in relationship, and it is also within relationship, and our innate human need for connection, that healing can begin to unfold.

Navigating emotional pain can be complex, with symptoms often emerging in ways that can feel overwhelming or unclear. Counselling offers a place to explore the underlying factors contributing, including unexpressed emotions and needs, experiences of invalidation, or relational disconnect in one's closest relationships. Healing and change happen when emotions are acknowledged, processed, and shared within a safe and supportive relationship.

I believe deeply in the power of healing through strengthening our relationships with ourselves and with others. I aim to cultivate a therapeutic relationship grounded in safety, trust, and openness - a space where you can feel accepted for who you are, while also being supported to explore new ways of being. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside someone through their fears, struggles, and pain, and to support the process of healing and integration that can emerge within a safe, connected relationship.

I draw from modalities including AEDP, Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and IFS parts work. My approach is also informed by somatic and trauma-informed perspectives, supporting awareness of both emotional and bodily experience.

Wherever you may find yourself, growth, change and healing are always possible.
